Eradication of Japanese Knotweed

Clive Richardson Limited were awarded the contract for the ‘Proposed eradication of Japanese Knotweed on existing land at Hill Street, Lurgan, County Armagh, BT66 6BH for South Ulster Housing Association’.

The contract asked for complete removal of Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia Japonica) and soil containing Japanese Knotweed from the above site (including all root/rhizome infestation).  A 2015 survey found that Japanese Knotweed on the site that was not in a condition whereby it could be reliably killed in a single season through herbicide treatment.  Therefore CRL were instructed to remove the plants and all contaminated soil from the site and dispose off in a specifically licensed facility.

The works were carried out to enable the construction of a residential development on this site.
